Sin
“VUltura“
The Spirit of night
Back story: “Vultura”, as she is childishly dubbed by the Elements, is the dreaded big bad evil-doer of this tale. She was born into a navajo tribe among the bloodline of the Elements along with her twin brother, Tsidii (Chief). When they became Elements themselves, the two were inseparable but always at odds as the Elements of Water and Fire.
Tsidii sympathized with humans and their ambitious push for progress, while Sin only saw waste and ruin disguised as “development”. She witnessed them with thinly veiled disgust as they warred with themselves and the forces of nature, piling corpses towards an unreachable goal they called “civility”. Tensions grew as her pleas to the other Elements turned to arguments and arguments turned to violence. Eventually she split from the Elements. Alone, Sin used every lake, river, coastline, body of water and storm to ravage any human settlement she set her eyes on.
It was only a matter of time until her fellow Elements were forced to turn against her as the death toll climbed over the years and the people the Elements were intended to protect begun to mistrust and turn against them. However, constant conflict with humans molded Sin into a powerful, resourceful foe who knew how to study her enemy and even manipulate them to her ends.
In a fierce battle whose outcome would determine the fate of the Americas, she was slain by Tsidii- but not before she achieved the ascension of her Element, becoming the Aspect of Night. Her newfound powers granted her the ability to return beyond the realm of the dead. This ensured that despite several defeats by the hands of generations of Elements, her death was never final. She had become a law of the universe, a constant of the cosmos given identity.
With each death, her spirit and her bones came into communion with the earth itself- and her will started to become manifest in the very soil itself. To her surprise, nature and her own power imparted a gift to her cause… A tree whose fruits could grant any avian, reptile or mammal levels of intellect comparable to that of the pinnacle, the human brain.
In the current age, Vultura plans to turn the youngest descendants of her bloodline to her cause. Where initially she took advantage of Rain’s grief after Amber’s passing, plotting with Rain to make her the First of the Elements through Cloud’s death- she has drastically changed her tune. When Rain failed to carry out her command, Vultura could do little but watch Cloud from afar. Over the years, she has come to endear herself to the purity and depth of his spirit. Such that her opinion of him has transcended seeing him as a roadblock. She now sees in young Cloud the potential to bring mankind to its ultimate end. All she needs is to change his heart.
“So predictable. Day by day you lose grip on this planet. Your rule is soon at its end brother, know I will stop at nothing to save this planet from your precious mankind.”
