Chief Tsidii

Backstory: Chief was born the twin to Sin, the antagonist of this story. The two grew to adulthood as Elements. However their viewpoints on how to defend nature and whether they should attempt to compromise with humans as they expanded their reach throughout the Americas put the twins at odds. Eventually their ideologies became so different that Sin split from the Elements.

When Chief received worsening reports of Sin attacking and genociding human settlements, he felt he was forced to act; Else the rift forming between mankind and the Elements became too great. A series of terrible battles followed, ending in Sin’s death at Tsidii’s hands. The decision weighed on Tsidii heavily. For a time, it seemed Sin’s threat would be a distant memory- but unbeknownst to him, she had ascended to the Aspect of Night. This allowed her to resume opposing the Elements, but in subtle ways.

Before Chief passed on, he too achieved his Aspect- the Aspect of Light. And in death, he became the Spirit of Light- He who would grant the Elements their power and guide them in their vigil.

Shortly after his descendant Amber became the First of the Elements, she’d give birth to Cloud. This directly coincided with Sin’s latest resurrection. This would become a key point of contention between Chief and the hopeful leader of the Elements, Amber. Year after year Amber delayed her duty to the world in favor of raising her son. Meanwhile, Chief could feel- but not see the ways in which Sin was growing her strength and influence. He could no longer wait for her to act.

Chief orchestrated the deaths of Cloud’s parents. Cloud was also intended to perish, which would make his older cousin Rain the one to inherit the Elements. Cloud’s survival was a surprise to Chief, but these are the conditions he is left to deal with. 

Currently, Chief makes his best efforts to guide the Elements to victory against their enemy- Though his disappointment grows steeper by the day.
